FREELANDER 神行者8 begins nationwide delivery (EREV)
Chery Jaguar Land Rover's FREELANDER 神行者8 started nationwide delivery on Sep 19, 16 days after its global debut. The boxy luxury SUV rides on an 800V range-extender platform: a 1.5T extender, dual-motor AWD rated 425 kW / 650 N·m (0–100 km/h in 4.8s), a 43 kWh ternary battery for 210 km CLTC pure-electric range and a combined range beyond 1,200 km. Official guide price is ¥309,900–399,900 (≈$43.2k–$55.8k), with a launch-period incentive price from ¥289,900 (≈$40.4k). It ships with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5; per the report, pre-orders surpassed 5,000 units within 12 hours of debut.
VW ID.AURA T6 heads to Sep 20 launch (BEV)
Faw-Volkswagen's ID.AURA T6, the first production Volkswagen with a roof lidar and China-led development, is set to launch on Sep 20. Presale runs ¥135,900–169,900 (final pricing to be confirmed at launch). Presale orders have exceeded 25,000. It is a rear-wheel-drive BEV on a 400V platform with a 170 kW motor; the 540Pro uses a 59.9 kWh Gotion LFP pack while the 660 variants use a 77.5 kWh CATL LFP pack, up to 660 km CLTC.
智界R7 refreshed version opens booking (BEV)

2027 BYD Yuan UP Feichi edition launches (BEV)
BYD launched the 2027 Yuan UP Feichi edition on Sep 17 — five variants, guide ¥74,800–104,800, with a limited-time price from ¥69,800 after trade-in subsidy. A new 501 km CLTC long-range version starts at ¥89,800, pulling the 500 km-class small pure-electric SUV below the ¥90,000 mark. The Yuan UP has been a two-year segment sales champion.
CPCA: September NEV retail seen at 1.11M, 65.7% penetration
The China Passenger Car Association estimated on Sep 18 that September passenger retail will reach about 1.69M units (+9.7% MoM), with NEV retail around 1.11M and penetration at 65.7% — up from 65.2% in August and a fresh record. The mix spans BEV and PHEV/EREV. (Source: CPCA / CnEVPost)
BYD H1: revenue ¥344.8B, Q2 net profit +30%

Separately, 36Kr reported Li Auto is spinning off its Mach chip and SiC-module (Sike Semiconductor) units and opening its range-extender system to external customers. Recalls: BYD Tang/Qin and Xiaomi SU7
BYD filed a recall with China's SAMR on Sep 18 covering 183,211 vehicles — Tang series (58,026), new-gen Tang DM (77,846) and Tang EV (7,023), plus Qin series (40,316) — over a brake-pedal stopper material batch issue that could leave the brake light on.
