IM Motors (a SAIC-backed premium EV brand) officially launched the all-new L6 electric liftback on August 28. Launch-edition pricing starts at ¥199,900 (Max), with the Pro Max at ¥217,900 and the performance Ultra at ¥259,900; a Prof. Jimmy Choo limited edition is offered at ¥219,900 (76 kWh) and ¥237,900 (93 kWh).

The L6 rides on an 800V architecture. The Pro Max delivers up to 850 km CLTC range from a 93 kWh LFP pack, while the Ultra's dual-motor AWD setup makes 579 kW and a claimed 2.74 s 0–100 km/h. All versions get a lidar and NOA-capable driver assistance as standard.

4. Geely unveils AI off-road tech; Galaxy Warship 700 teased for Q4 (PHEV/EREV)

Geely on August 28 unveiled its "AI new-energy off-road technology," combining the GTA native NEV off-road architecture, the EM-T all-wheel-drive AI hybrid (雷神 EM-T), and an AI terrain digital chassis. The first model to carry it, the Galaxy Warship 700 (银河战舰700), is confirmed for a Q4 2026 launch — no pricing has been announced.

Per a Nikkei Asia report cited by Chinese outlets on August 28, Toyota plans to start producing a next-generation electric SUV in China from autumn 2027, no longer led by the Japanese market but aimed at global exports.
