Leapmotor B03X Heads to Europe at €25,000, Built in Spain

A €25,000 Chinese-branded SUV built inside the EU is about to undercut Volkswagen, Renault and Stellantis on their home turf — and it sidesteps the tariffs that made other Chinese EVs expensive.

Leapmotor B03X: a €25,000 SUV built in Spain

Leapmotor will land its B03X subcompact SUV in European showrooms in autumn 2026 with a starting price of around €25,000, according to German newspaper Handelsblatt. That puts it well below most European-brand rivals, which cluster near €30,000: the VW ID. Polo opens at €24,995 and the higher-riding ID. Cross is expected above €28,000, with the Skoda Epiq, Renault 4 E-Tech, Citroën e-C3 Aircross and Opel Frontera Electric all in its sights.

The B03X is the European name for the model sold in China as the A10, where it starts at just ¥65,800–86,800. In China it pairs a 40 kWh or 53 kWh battery with 94 hp or 121 hp front-wheel-drive motors, claims a CLTC range up to 505 km, and recovers 30–80% in about 16 minutes. Europe will get a lower WLTP figure, CCS2 charging, and a version tuned for local crash and safety rules.

The key detail for buyers: the B03X will be built in Spain, alongside the B05 hatchback and B10 SUV, through Leapmotor International — the joint venture with Stellantis. Local assembly avoids the EU's import tariffs on Chinese-built cars (Leapmotor's rate is 21.3%), which is exactly how Leapmotor keeps the sticker near €25,000 instead of near €35,000 like the imported XPeng L03.

XPeng L03 starts UK deliveries this month

XPeng has begun handing over its first European-spec L03 units in Paris — founder He Xiaopeng personally delivered the keys — and the right-hand-drive version arrives in the UK in November. The fastback SUV is the European twin of China's MONA M03.

European pricing runs from €35,600 (Germany and France) for the 58.3 kWh LFP, 180 kW version with a 445 km WLTP range, to €46,600 for the dual-motor Performance Ultra. That is more than double the Chinese starting price of ¥123,800, but still undercuts a Volkswagen ID.4 or Tesla Model Y on entry price. The Long Range model (71.2 kWh) reaches 520 km WLTP.

China's November launch week

Back home, several notable models are set to go on sale in the first half of November:

  • Deepal S07 2027 (Nov 8) — Huawei Qiankun ADAS, EREV version with 300 km of EV range, from ¥159,900.
  • Leapmotor B10 (Nov 8) — mid-size BEV SUV, up to 850 km CLTC, standard L2+ driving assistance.
  • Li Auto i6 (Nov 10) — the brand's first pure-electric large SUV, 800V platform, 400 km of range from a 10-minute charge, standard lidar and city NOA.
  • Tesla Model 3 refresh (Nov 7) — range bumped to 750 km, with a full OTA assisted-driving update.

Together they cover BEV, EREV and plug-in hybrids — a sign that China's year-end launch rush is arriving on schedule.
